Killing Time

from Crooked Songs by Rance Garrison

/

about

Josh Daniels was Keaton's cousin and one of the funniest people I ever knew. Killing Time was a poem he wrote that appeared in our school's literary magazine. The poem was clearly about his love for rock and roll.

For some reason, I thought it would be funny to record myself reading it with my voice slowed way down so as to make it seem way more sinister than it actually was.

lyrics

I love rock and roll
Rock and roll in the deepest, darkest. . .

I love killin' time
Blastin' tunes and endless rhymes
All plans are gone for the day
Everything I normally do has changed
Writing songs, vibrating chords
Thumping subs, the occasional keyboard
Tapes are rollin', CDs are turnin'
Not a care in the world
Look at their faces
No one cares

Take it easy.
